Our mission is to make law, debate, politics, social sciences, and ethics accessible and engaging for students by providing clear resources, thought-provoking discussions, and a supportive community. We aim to inspire and encourage young people to think critically and become future advocates for justice.

Selin Kısacıkoğlu- Founder
My name is Selin and I am an AP student passionate about law, politics, and public debate. As the founder of Student Advocates, I aim to create a platform where students can express their perspectives on global and social issues through critical writing and open discussion. I actively participate in Model United Nations conferences, where I explore international relations and policymaking. My long-term goal is to study Law at the University of Cambridge and pursue a career that combines legal reasoning, diplomacy, and social impact.

Pınar Yirik- Organization
I’m Pınar Yirik. I’m part of the organization team, and I mostly take care of reviewing the writers’ works and making sure everything goes smoothly before publishing. I really enjoy supporting our writers throughout the process and helping their ideas come to life. Being part of this project gives me the chance to contribute to a space where students can share their voices, express their perspectives freely, and grow through collaboration.

Pamir Bayrakçı- IT
Hi everyone, I am Pamir Bayrakci and I am currently in my second year of the IB programme. I have been doing networking and server deployment projects for the last four years and i am optimistic about working with the Student Advocates Team. I have been around technology and computers since I was three years old and I have been professionally doing networking for two years. I enjoy managing the IT needs of student based projects in different schools, especially around my own community. It is a great opportunity for me to work with larger student associations, especially this project.

Derin Halatcı- Writer
I am Derin HALATCI. I am in the second year of the IB Diploma Programme. It is to my delight to read and learn about law, politics and debate, as someone who hopes to be a lawyer in the future. As the current Student Council president and MUN club president of my school I thrive to cherish the mindset of “from student to student”. It is my great honor to be a part of this student organization and write about my ideas on international law and global matters.

Ivy Qian- Writer
I am Ivy Qian, an IB final-year student from Hong Kong SAR. With a strong interest in human geography and political science, I see the Student Advocates platform as a great way to engage with these fields and encourage others to do the same. Through experiences like delivering a TEDx talk on climate change and leading my school’s Chinese Debate Team, I have deepened my understanding of global issues. I hope to study international relations and contribute to strengthening connections between global powers for a more peaceful world.

Boğaç İzmit- Writer
My name is Boğaç İzmit and I am currently in my second year of the IB Diploma Programme. My main interests are International Relations, law, and animation. Through the past few years I've done a few TEDx speaches on subjects such as "how art Works as a catalyst for social change" and "the evolution of animation", been to many Debates, and Model United Nations Conferences. Through those I have gotten a strong interest for International Relations and International Law. My time as an advocate in the ICJ and Trial committees (seperatly) truly fueled my interests further. I am hoping to continue my studies in the UK, studying law in London School of Economics. I feel greatly honored to be a part of this "for students from students" organization and write about important global matters, wether it be international law or relations etc.

Duru Ayhan- Writer
Hi Everyone, my name is Duru. I am currently a grade 11 student in Terakki Anatolian High School. Business and Economics are the subjects that I am deeply interested in for the last couple of years. I studied Economics and Academic Essay Writing at the University of Cambridge summer school this year which increased my aspiration to study and work more on these majors in a prestigious university in UK. I enjoy writing essays since it allows me to communicate my own perspective combining with academic resources effectively.

Defne Erdoğan- Writer
My name is Defne Erdoğan, and I am an 11IB student passionate about science, policy, and social impact. I strive to connect my interest in medicine with my curiosity about how societies function and make decisions. As the Vice President of my school’s Model United Nations Club, I explore global issues, diplomacy, and ethical decision-making through debate and collaboration. While my long-term goal is to study Medicine, I also enjoy engaging with topics like politics and public policy, as I believe that understanding them helps shape a more human-centered approach to healthcare. Within the Student Advocates platform, I contribute as a writer, expressing my perspectives on social and international issues through analytical and reflective writing.

Mayra İpekçioğlu- Writer
My name is Mayra İpekçioğlu. I am a student in the IB program, and I want to have a career in law in the future. I believe that legal systems should be based on justice, equality, and human rights. I try to join different projects to learn more about these topics.
This project was not only a chance to write something, but also a good way for me to think about ethics, law, and rights. I believe that young people should care about justice and social problems. I am very happy and proud to take part in this project.

Deren Sinangil- Writer
Hello everyone, I’m Deren. I am a 10th grade student at Şişli Terakki Foundation Anatolian High School. I previously submitted an article for Young Reporters for the Environment and I have participated in several Model United Nations conferences. I’ve had a deep passion in law and social justice from a young age. I’m truly excited to be part of this project, as it allows me to explore global issues , justice, ethics and many other important topics. It also gives me the opportunity to collaborate with international students and exchange diverse perspectives.

Eylül Büyükcan-Writer
My name is Eylül and I am a 12th grade student in Terakki Foundations Schools.I am passionate about international relations and political science. It is my goal to study international relations and have a career related to it. Throughout my school years I have participated in various activities such as Young Reporters of the Environment, Earthprize and TUBITAK essay however my interest was especially towards MUN conferences where I improved my debate skills and academic writing especially in ICJ committee and I intend to keep on doing so.

Akın Taha Ateş- Writer
My name is Akın Ateş, and I’m very happy to join this project. I currently serve as an advocate in the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in TTmun26, and I recently submitted an article to the Işık Makale Competition.
I wanted to be part of this project because I’m passionate about research and international law, and I believe working with students from different backgrounds will help me improve my critical thinking, and teamwork skills. I also see this as a great opportunity to exchange ideas, learn from others, and contribute meaningfully to a shared goal.
